Anonymous asked: Why aren't more Asians offended by people adopting their culture if it's as wrong as you claim?
for starters, i’d venture to guess that not ALL asians are offended because you guys like to pick and choose the cultures that you find aesthetically pleasing by whatever weird-ass standards you have, and whole entire ethnic groups are thereby left out of this garbage. not that you’d realize that, since most people still think we’re all the same (and this “adoption” of cultures doesn’t help that, btw.)
but to answer your question: um, actually, a lot of us are pretty offended by white people (mis)appropriating our cultures. sometimes, go figure, we’re just too busy worrying about the random ass white dudes on the street asking us if we’ll “love them long time” or calling us all lucy liu and trying to look up our skirts to sit there and call out every last ignorant cracker on their fuckery. if you want examples of said offended asians aside from my occasional rants, GOOGLE THAT SHIT and educate yourself, it’s not my job and this is not a social justice blog. also, that’s super cute how you guys think of it as “adopting” like you’re doing something nice or proactive, when in fact you’re just taking shit that doesn’t belong to you and bastardizing or fetishizing it.
p.s., the one thing asians collectively do is laugh at all of the people making asses of themselves in that manner.
